When Pope Pius V excommunicated Elizabeth I of England in the 16th century, he also issued a plenary indulgence to anyone who assassinated her and delivered the country back into the Catholic Church.

.
are you going to offer proof of this allegation with a legitimate authorotative source and citation? If not, discussion is over until you do. the site with the so-called papal bull is not the vatican website, so there is absolutely no evidence that its contents are accurate, nor is there any mention of an indulgence for killing QEI

well I have been back to read what is offered on all 3 links, including that to renewal of the bull by suceeding popes, do not see an indulgence for killing the queen. In any case she is already dead so if there was one it expired at that time, so what is the point of OPs question?

Give it up – all you’re going to get in the way of proof is:
What was the punishment going to be? I don’t think they were going to put her in “time out”.

OK, so the indulgence was from Sixtus V not Pius V, and it didn’t mention murder. My humble apologies for having taken this on trust from what was clearly a dubious source.

Those concerns aside, would the indulgence still stand for anyone involved in the “disposition and punishment” of the current UK royal family or political/religious system?

Well, the documents didn’t mention succeeding generations of the royal family, who in any case aren’t descended from Elizabeth I. Ironically they ARE descended from the good Catholic Mary Queen of Scots, albeit via her very Protestant son James VI and I of King James Bible fame.
