To persevere in faith in God. Thoroughly disappointed

I’d like to think I am a very prayerful person…

Yet it seems that nothing but suffering is coming my way, disappointments, hardships, unanswered prayers, unexpected sufferings, misfortune, one setback after another. It just gets harder every day. Seems that none of my prayers are being answered in spite of the novenas and Chaplets that I pray regularly. I have devotion to many Saints, I stop at 3pm to pray the DM Chaplet if I can. I feel really disappointed because God is not blessing me despite of my faithfulness. My faith in prayer is going down the drain. Some of you here will say, pray the Rosary or go to daily Mass; but I’ve doing that.

As Catholics, we are supposed to embrace suffering, but this is too much for me at this point. We can also offer up our sufferings for the Souls in Purgatory and to bear them all for our own sanctification.

I made the Way of the Cross this afternoon, but the weight of my cross is becoming heavier and heavier, that it’s crushing me.

Please pray for me to persevere in faith. Please pray for me not to be such a wimp.

Praying for you to persevere in the Faith. Don’t consider yourself a wimp. It’s difficult to go through dry spells where one is doing their best to Honor God and yet our lives seem not so great. The tide will turn and things will get better.

I am very sorry for your trials of faith. It really works, by the way, to come here, ask and know that your intention is being offered to the Lord and our community of the Body of Christ. I have done so often and experienced much consolation in the knowledge that prayer partners are there for you, surrounding you, asking God to reveal His purposes.

I don’t know you, but God does. Please know it is not quid pro quo with God and prayer. I’ve wrestled with much pain and lack or delay of response to my prayers. I’ve marveled at and treasure those few, yes, miraculous responses I’ve received. I learned “thy will be done” is the best prayer, and surrender to His will. And simple quiet time in adoration, “being” with Him and the Son of His unfathomable love. Mysterious love in times like yours (or Job’s).

I hope, besides individual prayer, you also turn to faithful friends for the love they may share from themselves and from that invested in them to give from the Holy Spirit. Very helpful to allow God other avenues to work from with you. I found great comfort in having a Stephen’s minister to speak with, and a spiritual director is quite helpful for coaching me on how to wrestle well with my faith.

I wake up in the middle of the night sometimes with much on my mind. I sit with God for awhile and be with that all-knowing, all-caring Son. I ask in this time my prayer for your intention and His will be done in your life. May Jesus reach out His hand to support you as He reached for Peter whose doubt in faith began to sink him into the troubled water that Christ showed might be traveled over, not through. Peace.
 
Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Dear Little St. Therese
by love and suffering while on earth

You’re not a wimp in the least; I, in fact, admire you for your determination to remain with God despite what seems like a lack of His presence. I’ve certainly been there and I know our prayers will reach God along with your own. Continue in your faith and God will provide.
