I’m with Al Masetti. We don’t know where the strangers, acquaintances, or friends are in their spiritual journeys, but the Holy Spirit does.
So I would say, pray, and if the need to speak wells up in you, speak. If a silent love wells up, continue praying for those who may not have anyone else praying for them. Leave it in God’s hands, but be willing to speak or not speak as He leads you.
Then pray afterwards that the Holy Spirit help you to discern if you were doing His will, or acting out of pride, or some other fault of which you may not be aware.
In this way, I sometimes find myself speaking up when I would have been more comfortable remaining silent, and remaining silent when I would have enjoyed speaking out.
In Christ’s peace and joy,
Robin
