To teach in the RCIA, how much experience do we (lay Catholics) need to have?

Do we need to go through a few years of study like Priests do before entering the seminary? Or do we just need to have a sound knowledge of the Faith i.e by reading the Catechism?

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question

It depends on the parish and the diocese. If you’re interested in working with RCIA you would need to inquire locally.

I can tell you that in my case I have a master’s degree in theology and certification in Christian Initiation.

You would have to resolve your severe scrupulosity problem before entertaining anything like teaching the faith as it could negatively affect people who do not know anything about our faith.

Yeah I know. I have no intentions (at the moment) of teaching RCIA. Was just curious
