Can we philosophically say that the law of gravity will remain valid after 50,000 or 10,000 years?
Gravity is not a matter for philosophy but scientific observation. As such, we cannot say philosophically much about it.Can we philosophically say that the law of gravity will remain valid after 50,000 or 10,000 years?
That seems a strange question from someone whose post about the non-reality of time I just answered. Can we philosophically say that the law of gravity will remain valid after 50,000 or 10,000 years?
"* based on the principle of induction …*? You know that’s nonsense. The law of gravity is based on the principle of induction which states that it is immensely probable that future sequences of events will continue to occur as they have done in the past. It amounts to belief in the uniformity of nature but it is impossible to prove beyond all doubt. Like all scientific statements it is provisional and cannot claim apodictic or mathematical certainty.
Then refute it!"* based* on the principle of induction …? You know that’s nonsense.
