To what extent can we read books by pro-abortion authors?

I feel like I’m doing myself an intellectual disservice. But if they further the pro-abortion agenda even a little, how little of the bit they get from us and/or our libraries (who order more copies if a book is popular enough) is negligible when we’re talking about human life?

The Church does not prohibit us from reading books by, or buying books from, liberal or pro-death authors. Just make sure not to to be swayed by their arguments.

I would not waste my money on a book arguing for abortion. It is not going to change my mind and I only give the person royalties. All the old arguments are in the public domain and thus do not need to be read anything to counter the debate.

The more we understand other peoples position on any subject the better we can defend our own. I suppose checking out a book on the subject from a local Library would be the most effective way of limiting sales as you would not be purchasing the book yourself.

Another option would be researching the book in question on line. Other than these ideas I really don’t know how we get around the fact that those who are writing these books are making a living/profit for them that might well support abortion efforts. But to remain ignorant of the reasoning behind pro-choice individuals might be more expensive in the long run.

Anyway: that is my two cents worth.

More than the subject matter, I’m worried about the author and contributing money (s)he might give to orgs like planned parenthood.
