To where was Elijah assumed?

Scripture has it that Elijah was taken up to heaven by a fiery chariot. The Church teaches, however, that Mary alone was assumed body and soul into heaven. Where, then, did Elijah go if not to heaven?
 
Dear J,

Both Elijah and Enoch were taken up to heaven before Jesus’ passion. They were obvioulsy exceptions. God can do that!
