After I genuflect and enter the pew, I first kneel before sitting to show my respect and awareness that Christ is present in the Eucharist in the Tabernacle.

You asked why Catholics in your parish kneel before sitting. I told you why. You can “say” all you like, but disproving the fact that Christ is in the Tabernacle is comparable to disproving there is a God. You haven’t done either, nor will you be able to do so.:coffeeread:

He Himself said that He is. “Take, eat, this is My body, broken for you.”

I had no idea that this is what they were kneeling to! Now that I know this I can safely say that I will never do it myself.

There are a few individuals practice this form of respect both coming and going. At times they lay on the floor prostate and pray for a length of time. They are very pious people who seem to make this part of their prayer routine.

Zundrah. WHY are you on this thread? It can’t be for knowledge as your mind is already closed. I would suggest you return to your Methodist Church or another form of it where you “might” be at peace rather than attend a Catholic Mass and dis the most important belief Catholics have.

You don’t have to leave Mass (capital M) I would just like to see your soul settled in one spot. If, through true ignorance, you refuse to see the Truth of the Catholic Church, you just might still make it to Heaven.

I remember the first time I went to mass just seven weeks ago. this song was sung;

“Do not be afraid, for I am with you,
I have called you by your name, you are mine.”

It was a beautiful welcome (even though no actual human welcomed me) to the church since I took the lyrics so literally! I settled after a while and just tried to feel Christ presence rather than be distracted by the others greeting.

I thought it was odd that no one welcomed me, but it was for the best really because I was quite nervous anyway!

I really liked this though; how when the priest says “Christ be with you” people spoke back, “And also with you”. How beautiful! That doesn’t happen in my old church!

I have kept all of the news letters ever since I first went there! They are in a neat pile on my book shelf! Every news letter is a diferent colour, either pink or yellow!
