Today I decided I will no longer identify as Catholic

Have you offered these burdens to God?

I mean one by one. Everything about yourself. The things you like, the things you don’t like. The skills you find easy, the limitations that make things hard. The perceptions and interpretations and everything-everything.

One by one. Taking everything you have and offering it to God with open hands, for Him to do with as He will?
Yes, actually this is a lot of what my life is like. My life is a lot like an examination of conscience. I try my best to let God lead my life completely. I have laid this at His feet and he just hands it back to me. He doesn’t hand everything back, but this he does.

Okay, I’d say keep going with that. Continually offering everything to God (and remembering a CS Lewis suggestion I always liked, remembering to address our prayers to: “God as You know Yourself to be, and not as I imagine You to be”)… I’m glad to hear you already offer things to God and are willing for Him to do His will with them.

I don’t have more specific suggestions for you at this time except to reiterate my suggestion to listen to Jimmy Akin’s Mysterious World. You might find it a refreshing experience of hearing unusual phenomena talked about in both a very fair and Catholic way.

I listen to this podcast while I do chores.

Well done, quoting. It takes a bit to get the knack of it.
Yes honesty is the only way. I am working on your list of supernatural phenomena. The one you put up. I went through it and pointed out what was not Catholic and not of God.

I have absolutely no assumptions about your life. I have no idea how you live and did NOT start discussing that. I have only discussed your list.
I have no idea what type of caliber person you are, it has no interest to me. You could be a king or pauper, a prostitute or the moral police. It is irrelevant.

To God the only important thing is we follow Him.
All you know is that here is a man who, in some respects, has had a tough go of it… as we all do… and is frustrated because he can’t find a member of the clergy who is willing to discuss the things he needs to discuss.
Humble yourself, be prepared to trim the dead wood and go listen to what a priest has to say.
Nopriest is going to tell you its ok, because they would be selling out to God and the Church. If you are prepared to listen, a priest can help you discern properly. He wont be using ‘energy magnets and the like’

To Catholics the practice of new age ‘energies’ and reincarnation, chakras and other beliefs are cavorting with the devil.
Thats a fact. No sugar coating it.
What a priest will do is start with eliminating All Medical reasons for your perceived visions. He will go from there with a medical team. There is a protocol you cannot shortcut. You will have to jump through all the Church’s hoops in discerning this.

Have you read any of the saints and what they went through in discerning the truth of their experiences?
I know you mean well, but you are really not helping. Please stop responding to this thread.
Listen to what the Catholics on this thread are saying to you. If you want different responses you would get them from a new age type forum.

"Thus says the Lord, I created you, I have redeemed you, you are mine. "

Let the Lord redeem you.

Unfortunately, being a Catholic isn’t about being you, or even being the best version of you, it’s about being Christ for others.
I would suggest that both those things are actually one and the same. Being Christ for others actually brings out the real you.

The very fact you are rejecting Jesus in holy communion ,walking away from the sacraments ,I don’t know what to say …it is very sad .So called ‘gifts’ are then pointless
I think it’s better for someone who doesn’t accept Catholic doctrine or morality to cease to identify as Catholic.

With respect and love, friend, this is a dangerous place to be.
Thank you for your concern. It is only true in relation to this post on this forum. I will continue being open, and I will continue my search. But not in this post on this forum. This is my last response in this post on this fourm.

Whether or not you want to identify as Catholic at this moment in your life, remember that you will always be Catholic and can return at any time … I pray that you return and that you can find some heart-warming spirituality in the Catholic Church.

Matthew L. Fraser is an American “psychic medium” who features in the reality TV show Meet the Frasers which first premiered on January 13th 2020 on E! Entertainment. Fraser was one of the mediums featured in the sting known as Operation Peach Pit reported on in The New York Times in 201

Or maybe like blake healey

For as long as he can remember, Blake K. Healy has seen angels and demons. He sees them as clearly as he would see you if you were standing right in front of him. He sees angels dancing in worship services and whispering words of encouragement in people’s ears. …
Did you just make a new account to post this same stuff about “mediums”?

These people aren’t real. They’re frauds. Stop pushing this stuff.

And yes I agree it is sad, but it doesn’t mean my life is pointless. There are plenty of ways to be Christian and human.
This was your response to walking away from the eucharist…

The eucharist, coming into communion with Christ, isn’t really about a way to be human, as you put it. It’s not really about a path towards you and how you are Christian. It’s the most human path to Christ, the closest you will ever come to Him. Choosing to walk away from Him is a path that leads to unfulfillment, and ultimately, devastation.
