Today is a sad day for me. It’s in the ‘bones’ that Jesus was crucified. Then, let that be an engine for ‘goodness’. I am sure others think the same: am I right?
 
Today for me is not a sad day it is a wonderous day because it shows me how much God loved me that he was prepared to endure so much. even more when I read a detailed account of what crucifiction really mean’t. 😊

On the cross, the veil between the Holy and the unholy is “torn from top to bottom” (Matthew 27:51), the “curtain of his body” becomes a “living opening” (Hebrews 10:20) through which we all can now walk into the Holy of Holies, which on different levels is both our own soul and the very heart of God.

Nothing changed in heaven on Good Friday, but everything potentially changed on Earth. Some learned how to see and to trust the contract between God and humanity. God has always and forever loved what God created, “it was always good, it was very good” (Genesis 1:31). It was we who could not love and see the omnipresent goodness.
 
well, of course to meditate on the passion of Jesus would make anyone sad who loves Him, and that is a very meritorious sympathy to have.

but i would not so much call it a sad day, as i would call it a very solemn day, as the church even tells us, that the moment Jesus died on the cross was the most solemn moment in history.

Jesus was humiliated for us. He had pasison for us. He want that we have Euharistic.
That we through Euharistic become one with them.

It is a sad day indeed, but for the reason that we are so naive to the Love of God that He can take the punishment He himself has set on us. He is truly a Father that imposes a punishment to his child but takes it to himself: Justice and Mercy at the same time! What a love. It sad that we, human beings, are so sinful that God has to suffer in his only begotten Son.

What a “happy fault” that we can experience God’s Love to the fullest!
