Today is First Friday. If you can, make a **Holy Hour of Adoration **before the Blessed Sacrament.

I will attend Mass, Benediction, and Exposition of Our Blessed Lord in the Holy Sacrament from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM.

If you have a special intention for which you wish me to pray, please leave your request here. I will come back before I leave for mass to make note of your intention.

My 86 year old mother in law broke her hip and will be operated on this afternoon. Her name is Mary.

peace

Not only is today First Friday, it is THE First Friday. Today is the feast of the Sacred Heart. 😃

My sister Theresa Mary as well as my husband Frank and myself, Kathleen… Theresa moved in with us almost a year ago so we could assist her through this last chapter of her life. She has Ovarian Cancer. Thank you. I, in turn, will thank The Lord at Adoration today for your thoughtfulness. :gopray:

Thank You. Please pray for the special intentions of my heart.

Act of Reparation

A partial indulgence is granted to those who recite this prayer. A plenary indulgence is granted if it is publicly recited on the feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. This prayer was prescribed to be recited on this feast by Pope Pius XI .

👍
What exactly is a public recitation? I’m kind of shy and keep to myself, especially when it comes to praying out loud. Does this mean I have to recite the Act of Reparation outloud in a public place?

Being that it’s Canada Day today and there seems to be a Canada Day Mass sponsored by the K of C and celebrated by the bishop, I’ll be at Mass this morning too.

An example of a public recitation would be when the prayer is prayed at Mass or in a group aloud, however small the group.

Happy Canada Day and blessings to all the faithful.

For all the intentions of His Most Sacred Heart, I think that covers it. 😉

I will be making Adoration as well today. I will be praying for you.

God bless,

I was just about to post that.

My first Feast of the Sacred Heart. The Liturgy of the Hours has a beautiful hymn for today: Hymn to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I can’t find the particular rendition online, but it is beautiful.

What are most parishes doing on this day?

Your intentions were presented before The Blessed Sacrament today.

Stylites - For your special intention
hazcompat - For your Mother in Law, Mary for her surgery and recovery
Chatter163 - For your special intention
Philotheatoo - For your sister, Theresa Mary, Frank and you. Thank you for your much appreciated prayers.
trinichiqn - For the special intentions of your heart.
**Love Divine **- For your special intention.
CountrySteve - For your intention that you would enroll in RCIA.
**Little One **- For all the intentions of His Most Sacred Heart.
**True Light **- For your special intention. I sang that lovely hymn to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus for the Morning Liturgy too. Sadly it wasn’t in the church hymn book. It would have been perfect for Mass. Thank you for your much appreciated prayers this evening.
Father - For your two special intentions.

Patti,

Thank you so much for your prayers and taking them before Jesus. I prayed for you as well today.

God bless.

We had a High Mass for the feast of the Sacred Heart, preceded by Holy Hour, Benediction and the singing of the litany of the Sacred Heart. Then a group of us went to dinner and ate meat! 😃
