Today on The View

I exercise in a gym where a TV is present. I never turn it on, but sometimes some women come in to exercise and always turn on the View (never bothering to ask me my preference…argh!) I hear pieces of their conversations while I try hard to concentrate on praying Hail Mary’s for the conversion of the hosts of the View. I often think about all the good these women could do on this show if they would only have their heads on straight. Instead what they do is promote everything that is counter to Christianity. Keep praying for them, and imagine if a show like that was run by a group of holy women…

I too truely believe that taking comunion is very important. It shows our true belief in Jesus. I know the Lutheran and Catholics agree it is the true body and blood of our Saviour. Thank you for your comments. It helps me to understand the Catholic Church. I was married in the Lutheran Church and my father would not walk me down the isle. This is part of the reason I have problems with the Catholic Church at times. My father and his family were Irish Catholic and yet he didn’t go to church. But he still wouldn’t walk me down the isle. Maybe someone could answer that one for me.

Hi, I just felt I should point out that today on the View, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Joy made some pretty offensive comments about the Catholic Church which I feel were way over the line. I was surprised and disappointed in Elisabeth. She talked about being raised Catholic but left after realizing the “hypocrasy” They were discussing confession which is something so sacred and they were talking about how ridiculous it seemed to confess to a priest. They made some really offensive remarks which I feel they need to apologize for. I plan on letting ABC know how I felt about this.
Interesting…That’s exactly what I used to think. That is exactly how most people who leave the Catholic Church feel.

“There are not more than 100 people in the world who truly hate the Catholic Church, but there are millions who hate what they perceive to be the Catholic Church.”
-Bishop Fulton Sheen

Sounds like he had a personal issue and wasn’t necessarily open to accepting God’s grace into his heart.

I would just point out Christ’s prayer for unity in Jn 17, and the importance of not leaving Peter. The reformation (misnomer for revolution) broke apart the body of Christ and it has continued breaking into more than 30,000 different churches, all claiming to have the truth of Christianity. For a non-Christian who is looking at Christianity, he says, “Which one?”

I really think people who are that antagonistic toward the Church are simply trying to justify their own actions and beliefs against something they know is actually True. It’s like rebelling against your parents when they are in the right, but then trying to get your friends/siblings to sympathize with your side of the story. Same can be said for those people who greedily choose to have one or two children and then they ridicule a family with more than four children. They feel guilty.

As for me, I don’t bother giving such a show as *The View *ratings. We don’t even own a TV because there is so much hogwash and, honestly, even diabolocal shows on it.

As other posters commented, though, the best response is to write a complaint to the advertisers and network.
Right on of course. That show like the rest of the media are a bunch of Ted Baxters. They make such comments because controversy is how they get ratings of course. I mean it beats having a real job. I am afraid the loser in all this is the people who spend part of the day watching the program-I mean you have to find something better to do than that.

If one feels it’s “ridiculous” to confess to a Priest they simply don’t have to do it. What’s the problem? Is anyone kidnapping them and dragging them into a confessional? No one makes me watch The View. Thank God.

I give up, why does anyone watch this tripe? For the love of heaven, and your sanity, pray the rosary, listen to Dennis Prager, post on CAF, bake some brownies or vacuum the rug—you’ll be so much happier…

While I admit I listen to PBS and Air America from time to time, it is done for purely educational reasons–know thy enemy–I cannot expose myself to the toxic elements that prevail the atmosphere on The View.
Very well said! I also appreciate your plug for Prager! What a great guy.
