Today's (Corpus Christi) Mass on EWTN

For those of you, who have access to EWTN, today’s Mass was exceptionally beautiful. A very clear explanation of transubstantiation in the homily. And then the Corpus Christi procession.

Beautiful! I wish I could have been there.

I think it will be rebroadcast at 12 noon (EST).

“Indyann” We just saw the rebroadcast. You’re right, it was a gorgeous day for it… beautiful procession and music. The nuns sound like angels… when they sing! And the children were absolutely precious! The little altar boys and the little girls, all dressed in white with veils!

I wish I could have been there, too. I live within driving range of Hanceville… but the trip would be too difficult for my mother. So I haven’t been down there (yet ). Someday, though!

The Mass, procession and Benediction were all broadcasted from Hanceville.

What I saw broadcast was just the procession.**

I believe there were two separate processions broadcast on EWTN on Sunday.

The first followed the morning Mass at the Chapel in Irondale and the second was in the afternoon - a procession from the Shrine at Hanceville.

If you looked you would have seen that at the morning Mass and procession the Priest was Father Anthony and the Priest for the afternoon procession from the Shrine was Father Mark - and by his side was Deacon Bill.

The small girls and boys were in attendance at the morning Mass and procession, as were the MFVA Brothers.

At the afternoon procession from the Shrine Father Mark’s escort wore red cassocks so they were not MFVA Brothers.

But all in all the weather was beautiful - even though they lost power and thus sound because of storms in the area.

As a point of interest – At the time, I was wondering if we would see Mother Angelica at the Shrine even though she is confined to a wheelchair. We did not, but a camera shot as the procession was entering the shrine showed a man pushing (very quickly) a nun in a wheelchair. I wonder?

Okay. That makes sense now. I saw the morning Mass, procession and Benediction. I was mistaken about the location. Having never been there, I forgot that there are 2 locations where they televise.
