“They were all baptised into Moses in this cloud and in this sea; all ate the same spiritual food and all drank the same spiritual drink, since they all drank from the spiritual rock that followed them as they went, and that rock was Christ.”

This is the first time I noticed that Christ is identified before the birth of Jesus, present with the Israelites at their liberation.

Funny–I kind of snapped to attention when I heard this today as well. I also don’t recall hearing it or seeing it before, though of course I must have!
