Hearing vs. listening seems to ne the theme or a theme in both readings.

This was about the Word of God. However, do you think it is relevant to our overall attentiveness?

In other words, can a consequence of sin be reduced attentiveness? With the only way of regaining it, for a baptised, being to repent and perform acts of charity?
 
I’ve heard that the apostles lost sleep. Was this their purification for sin in order to prepare their minds to receive understanding of Jesus’ teachings?
