I’m very fond of him, too. To give up his life for those poor souls, to do more than what’s asked, and to ultimately give one’s life for those people…I’ve visited Molokai twice just because of him.

I only visited the place by watching the movie “Molokai”.

I love him! If you ever have the time, pick up the book “The Colony: The Harrowing True Story of the Exiles of Molokai” by John Tayman. It paints a lovely, very in-depth portrait of Bl. Damien.

(If “Damien” hadn’t been saddled with such horrible “The Omen” baggage, I would have considered it for this little one due up)
