Which Islamic or Arabic scholars have translated the word “Islam” as “peace”?

And how many groups of muslims have gone out to the streets, gathered together in conferences, or something of that order to denounce extremists such as hamas, wahabbism, the muslim brotherhood, etc? How many groups of muslims have done that one the same order as they have gone out to the streets to riot about cartoons (and have killed people, burn churches, sue and litigate over them, and even gone to the UN to tell islamic nations to get tough on nations that have sharia laws that are responsible for the worst human rights abuses??!!)!?

NONE! NO ONE! But, they have indeed done all of the above whenever the Jews fight back after they have been attacked DAILY by muslims (hamas, hezbollah and the Palestinians), or when the Hindus fight back, or when the Christians fight back because no infidel is to fight back because then we hear the whining and wailing of muslims who are incredulous that they are finding that the ones who they are attacking are sick of being their targets!

now, when reading the following verses, keep in mind that in islam the world is divided up into two main realms - the realm of islam (dar al islam) and the realm of war (our infidel lands that are not controlled by sharia laws). And you should take a read of my signature’s website too. So, in our lands the phrase that mohammed said, ‘war is deceit’, applies in our lands since their stated goal has been to establish sharia laws. It isn’t necessarily to kill or convert us - but to subjugate us. (The only peace that islam recognizes are: death, conversion or subjugation)

The Sunni Qur’an commentator Ibn Kathir explains that in this verse “Allah prohibited His believing servants from becoming supporters of the disbelievers, or to take them as comrades with whom they develop friendships, rather than the believers.” However, exempted from this rule were “those believers who in some areas or times fear for their safety from the disbelievers. In this case, such believers are allowed to show friendship to the disbelievers outwardly, but never inwardly. For instance, Al-Bukhari recorded that Abu Ad-Darda’ said, ‘We smile in the face of some people although our hearts curse them.’ Al-Bukhari said that Al-Hasan said, ‘The Tuqyah [taqiyyah] is allowed until the Day of Resurrection.’"

This practice is also sanctioned by the Qur’an warning Muslims that those who forsake Islam will be consigned to Hell — except those forced to do so, but who remain true Muslims inwardly: “Any one who, after accepting faith in Allah, utters unbelief — except under compulsion, his heart remaining firm in faith — but such as open their breast to unbelief, on them is wrath from Allah, and theirs will be a dreadful penalty” (Qur’an 16:106). Ibn Kathir explains that “the scholars agreed that if a person is forced into disbelief, it is permissible for him to either go along with them in the interests of self-preservation, or to refuse.”

Moreover, Sahih Bukhari, the hadith collection that Sunnis consider the most reliable, records three times Muhammad’s statement that “war is deceit.” Are we to suppose that no Sunni who reads that thinks it is a principle worth implementing?

War is deceit," said the Prophet Muhammad (Sahih Bukhari, IV:52:268-270). He also said that lying was permissible in battle (Sahih Muslim, book 32, no. 6303). Several Muslims have objected to my citing of such passages, and others such as Qur’an 47:4, in connection with cases that do not involve a hot war.

Many muslims not of the shia sect will say it is only for the shia muslims. Well, it is for all the muslims and that is just more deceit. The shia do it because they are mostly minorities in sunni lands. They have to be deceptive in those lands so they practice taqiyya most often.

Study the history of Lebanon - or Africa - or the Balkans - or Southeast Asia. they all start out peaceful until the muslims gain a certain percentage and then they start their violence. this is such a common thing to bring up.

Most of the violence done by Christians to an extent that you want to make it into an issue is #1. in the far, distant past, #2. not even on the scale of islamic imperialistic wars, #3. our laws in the West which are based on Judeo-Christian principles take perps give them a trial and mete out punishment (eg: Timothy McVeigh who DID NOT commit his crime while yelling out AKBAR anything!). Sharia laws do nothing to any muslim if they do anything against a non-muslim and even do very little if done against their own women.

Islam is NOT a religion of peace. It IS a religion of violence. How did Islam spread? It certainly wasn’t through peace. It spread through constant war and conquest. Islam has been at war since Muhammad.

I brought up something in post #9 back to Snow that I would like to bring up again - dar al harb and dar al islam.

WHAT!!?? religion divides the world up into the realm of war (dar al harb) and the realm of ‘whatever their religion is’ (dar al islam)?!

That is intolerance at its height!

It is a ‘either you are with us or you are against us’ mentality. We see that type of mentality in the fascisms of communist regimes - in China, Russia, etc.

I know, I know that the left throws around the word ‘fascism’ all the time along with words such as ‘nazi’, ‘Hitler’, etc. whenever they don’t have anything else and start their bashing of those who disagree with them. Well, this is different because I know the meaning of the word ‘fascism’ that our lefties represent more than the ones that disagree with them represent.

Well, how many recognize this in islamic countries with sharia law?! I know I do. And we hear about forcible suppression of opposition all the time when they subjugate people (dhimmi).

So… what do we have? A ‘religion’ that is more of a political movement than a religion - or maybe even more accurately it is more of a political movement that uses religion to control its people. If one reads sharia laws you will see how all encompassing islam is even to the point of controlling their potty behavior!

but, this is quite common for people who do not know history to bring these things up. It is usually the secular left who bring this up and are islam’s useful Idiots.

personally, I like to make sure they understand that in our (Judeo-Christian) society we take murderers and give them a trial and mete out punishment. In muslim societies they get jailed if they speak against the koran or mohammed, or try to leave islam. They can kill their own and just call it ‘honor killing’, or just say the guy was speaking against mohammed/koran. They can do whatever they want to infidels - torture, rape, enslave, kidnap, murder, steal from, etc. Just don’t shirk the koran - and all will be ok.

#1. the Inquisition and the Crusades are in the far, distant past - as I already wrote in response to a note to you. But, I don’t know if you read that. islamic violence is still going on with the silence of the ‘moderate’ muslims (silence means acceptance because they are NOT silent with cartoons, violence against their subjugated ones (dhimmi), or to push islam in such things as the NYC muslim day parade, celebrating the deaths of 9/11, etc).

#2. I personally do not know how one can compare the Crusades or the Inquisition to the continual warfare that has been going on for 1400 years, and still going strong, in islam! But, maybe one doesn’t have a grasp as to what is going on in India/Kashmir, or the Philippines, or Israel, or
Africa, the Balkans, etc.

#3. Ok, the Inquisition.

We do not look at the Inquisition with pride, but a dark period of our history. This is the complete opposite mindset from muslims who like it when we question our history, and make sure to confuse the issues so as to not to be questioned to their imperialistic nature since mohammed. (read the article on ‘useful idiots’ in the previous post)

I have read this article on the Inquistion and it is pretty good about this subject. Unless your motive is to continue to bash Christianity/Catholicism I would suggest reading up on the Inquistion and also islamic history - their history of jihad which should show you it is still going on.
