Author Tom Clancy just died at age 66. I was a big fan of his Jack Ryan/John Clark books.

I haven’t ready many of the newer novels that feature Jack Ryan Jr but I will have to catch up.

I’ve actually taken notes while reading some of the novels; they are that complex. But that’s part of what I loved about them.

Many of the characters in the books are Catholic, although not always practicing.

Eternal Rest, O Lord.

I too have loved his books, especially “Red Storm Rising”

I just saw the news. I really loved his early books. May his soul enjoy everlasting life with our Lord.

Peace

Tim

May he rest in peace, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him.

Peace,
Ed

Only read bits and pieces of his books (long story).

I’ve read and enjoyed all of his books. Rest in peace old friend.

I also have almost all of the Tom Clancy books, especially those on Jack Ryan and Jack, Jr., and enjoyed all of them very much. He could write such complex stories, yet keep each separate, until the end, when everything came together and made sense. He was a fabulous writer, very well informed about government & foreign governments and customs overseas. I will pray for him. I believe he was a practicing and devout Catholic.

I saw that he got his degree from Loyola, and was Irish of course. I was wondering if he was Catholic.

I saw an interview on TV years ago (just after “Hunt For Red October” movie came out) and he told the interviewer that yes, he was Irish and a practicing Catholic, as were his wife and children.
