Too Harsh a Penance?

Thank you all for your responses ~ I spoke to my priest after Mass today ~ He said that the penance was–and I’m paraphrasing–an inappropriate penance ~ He asked if I had said the rosary ~ I told him I had said one decade yesterday (the day I was given the penance) ~ He said that was fine, gave me a new penance, and told me not to worry ~ In fact, he told me not to worry several times ~ I told him, “I’m Italian–I worry!” I’m so grateful for this site and for all of your comments and advice ~ Peace to all ~
