Too many Copy paste same prayers again and again

It is comments like these and yes they are very judgmental that keeps me from posting. I do pray for the intentions but no longer post.
One thought occurred to me, how can you tell the difference between someone who is typing out the prayer and one who cuts and paste.

Can you tell which one I copied and which one I pasted? So those who think it is all copied and pasted might just be misjudging.

My comments are judgmental? About not judging the prayers of people posting? (you quoted my post saying that the comments were judgmental. Just checking.)

Knowing my nature I find it best to make a plain direct appeal to God regarding the request, for two reasons,
one, because then the person knows I’ve read the request and care,
and two, I fear if I did use a formula prayer I might end up hurrying over it when there are other urgent prayer requests waiting.:eek:

People wouldn’t be praying in the Prayer Intentions Forum if we didn’t care about others needs and sorrows.

I think that the Internet under these circumstances, makes us feel close to each other, and compassionate with each other, so however we prayer, God knows the intention of the person praying is good.

I was agreeing with you "Are we seriously judging the prayers of others? " Not that you were being judgmental but I do believe others were when they say that not a lot of thought goes into it. They couldn’t possibly know what the poster is putting into it.

This is a pretty uncharitable accusation.
 
I feel it’s important to look for those requests that received few responses, even several pages back. I try to pray on those especially.
I don’t post on threads that are many pages as they have already received much prayer.
The people who receive few prayer responses might feel neglected and like outriders.

I agree.

But please know, that even if I’m not posting on the threads on prayer requests, I’m still offering prayers to God for ALL intentions on CAF. I do prefer to pray specifics, but I’m also of the belief that no prayer is wasted, whether named or not.

Absolutely!
 
It’s all button pushing regardless-- typing it out or copying and pasting—it is the verbal or mental prayer that goes with it is what matters.

Some people prefer to pray formal prayers and to show which prayers were said.

The rosary is the same prayer over and over, and it is a powerful weapon, and so are the repeat prayers in the prayer intention forums.
 
The copy & pasted prayers don’t bother me since I am sure they are praying them. For those that respond to multiple threads rapidly, I think they say the prayers once for all the intentions they respond to. I don’t know how they could do it otherwise. What I do is write the names of the prayers I am saying and then pray them.

I think that the rules for the prayer intentions thread don’t allow for advice, although sometimes short little bits are given when it is requested.

No, we can’t tell which you did.

But if you posted to 5 threads in one minute and “typed out” the Lord’s Prayer and the Hail Mary on each one then, yes, we can be pretty sure you pasted the prayer. If you then posted the same way for 15 minutes, we can also be pretty sure you also aren’t reading the intention.

And shouldn’t prayers mean something? When people ask for prayers, are they really asking for rapid fire, cut and paste words? Or are they asking people to care? When they see the rapid cut and paste, do they feel cared for?

The HTML and BB code formating says 100% they are nothing but copy paste however people behind it they are sincere and ofcourse pray

No problem let’s fill the whole world with Hail marry 🙂 It is great but just
beside that 1 min of free prayer is great too

Just my opinion 😉

They must have better internet than I do. It would take me longer than a minute to open five threads let alone paste eve if all I had to do was to paste. You can’t be sure of anything accept you will die. It is judgmental to assume that the prayers don’t mean something. You have not idea if they hadn’t read the post before they started posting and therefore knew what was posted. I often read than go away and come back and post. One does not know the heart of the other which has more benefit-one who prays for twenty minutes or one who prays for a minute. God alone knows the heart and it wrong ,imho, to assume you know. When I have asked for prayers I don’t go and look at what other prayers they might have answered I am just glad they are praying for my attention cut or paste or not. It is strange to me even unkind to note how they are posting.

I really don’t see how.

Let’s set aside the advice issue, since the prayer intentions forum is **not **designed for advice, and since manifold other sections of the website are. (Let’s also set aside the issue that most of us may not be as qualified to give advice as we think we are, myself of course included.)

Why would copying-and-pasting (or just re-typing) “Praying for your intentions” be better than copying-and-pasting (or just re-typing) an Our Father or a *Hail Mary *or a Glory Be to the Father?

Perhaps what *would *be an improvement is to follow the lead of those who go through the trouble of finding prayers that are relevant to the intention of the prayer thread. There’s one poster in particular who seems to have scores and scores of prayers she finds, and I’ve always found that very kind.
