Too many times to remember

Hello Everyone,

I made a general confession and for some sins that I thought were committed too many times to remember or too long ago, I just said the sin and that I did it “many times”. Is this still a good confession? Thank you in advance.

In the future remember the Three Bs of Confession:

• Be BOLD - tell it like it is
• Be BRIEF - just the facts, (approximate) number and kind
• Be GONE - leave the Confessional and say your penance

What does that mean?

It means confess your sins by number and kind. For example: twice I missed Mass, three times I took the LORD’s name in vain, etc.

Frequency is also fine. E.g.

“Approximately twice a week for the past five years. “

I have also been told that time period is fine.

For example, “We lived as husband and wife for 6 months without the benefit of marriage.” Or, “Drug use was a regular part of my life for 3 years.”

Things that if you tried to put a number on it, the number would only be a guess.
