Too old for YA novels?

I first read Lord of the Rings when I was 18 - loved it, but didn’t really understand it. I didn’t read it again for years. When I read it last year, I think my 4th time through it, I felt like I understood more of it. Being in one’s 60s gives one a better insight - so I’ll probably understand even more in 10 years. 🙂

This last reading, there was one thing that really touched me - Bilbo’s last poem/song at the end of the 3rd book.

Read what you want.
There are good YA books and cra*p, just as with anything else. I still love Robt. Heinlein’s “juvenilles”.

Me, too. Star Beast is probably my favorite - even tho the kid is such an idiot. For some reason, most of Heinlein’s main characters are. But the stories are still good.
