back to the original question= yes, i`m very very tired of debating which religion is right. I actually only came here because I got some mormoms coming to me every week and this forum has so far been quite useful.
debating with non-christians like mormons and JW, ok.
debating between chrsitians- nice, but a waste of time.
🙂
Hi
Ever tried to discuss with Ahmadis? - a peaceful faith in Islam
Thanks
bridging gaps between faiths/denominations/religions/agnostics

Why do you say that?😦 To be honest with you I dont think a catholic would have done any better or worse. These atheists were pretty set in their beliefs and pretty set about spewing them.😦
I fell aslepp and then woke up and Im not sure how much if any I missed.
Catholics CAN do better on one of the most central and difficult issues against a monotheist: If God is:

A. ALL-Powerful
B. ALL-Good
C. ALL-Knowing,

then why do innocent people suffer?

That is one of the central questions that drives atheism. And no Protestant can fully answer it because Protestants do not believe in MERIT. They, in general, believe that CHRIST ALONE saves and that Christians cannot help redeem others by meriting grace for others through their suffering.

Only Catholic and Orthodox Christianity can provide this answer and hope that Protestants cannot because of their intrinsically erroneous understanding of justification.

Salvation of non-Christians is another problem that many Protestants cannot answer if they are otherwise orthodox. It is very difficult for middle of the road to conservative Protestants to accept the idea that a non-Christian can be saved, precisely because of their aforementioned flawed notions of justifcation.

These two big issues would render a conservative Protestant to be torn to shreds where a Catholic could actually plant some deep seeds in a yearning heart for meaning and purpose.
