Can’t afford to go to Rome, Lourdes, etc. so I was wondering what people here might suggest as the top ten Catholic destinations to visit in the USA?

I can’t think of 10 places, but I can suggest one: Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Hanceville, Alabama. I went there a few years ago, and it left a deep impression on me. The Mass I attended was the most beautiful I’ve ever been to.

I do agree.

About every other week, I sneak off to spend about two hours there…aaahhhh…

I would recommend the National Shrine of St. Gerard in Newark, New Jersey. I visited this shrine about a year ago and it is wonderful… If you enter through the side entrance there is a hallway with hundreds of pictures of babies born through the intercession of St. Gerard.

I’d also recommend the The Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima World Apostolate in Washington, New Jersey… It is huge and contains a walking path for the Rosary, Stations of the Cross and reproductions of the original Chapel built in Fatima…

God Bless

Ps: First three pics I took are of the Shrine of St. Gerard… the last one is from the Blue Army.

There’s more than corn in Indiana! We have a Saint!!

Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, one of our newest Saints is laid to rest at St. Mary of the Woods outside of Terre Haute, Indiana.

Not sure where you live, but Montréal isn’t far from the NY border. St. Joseph’s Oratory is the largest Catholic church in North America as far as I know. It is magnificent and Montréal itself is a great city to visit. It’s sort of like Europe 🙂

There is also a Notre Dame Cathedral there ( where Celine Dion got married, stop rolling your eyes! )

There is also a church and some history about a female Saint in the Old Montreal port… I can’t remember her name. Ste. Marguerite de Bourgeois I think…

Check out Montréal!
