I love the suggestion of the Shrine of Lourdes in Emmitsburg, MD. When we drive between our house and my in-laws, we always try to stop there.

This might be a repeat, but I didn’t see anyone mention Notre Dame, North Bend Indianna

if you go to Hanceville, don’t miss Ava Maria Grotto right down the road! Awesome place! Must see! 😃
you know what we ought to do?

Have a CAF meet up at the Grotto! Or the Shrine!

I’m always going to the book stores at each place to pick up, yet, another Catholic Book…and we go to the Shrine to get our monthly supply of Holy Water.

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve been to the Shrine, I’m feeling the need to go! You know, since you didn’t get to make it to B’Ham and the EWTN Celebration…😉

It’s not as ostentatious as a cathedral or basilica, but a great Catholic place nonetheless: Cross in the Woods Catholic Shrine in Indian River, Michigan. Seeing the enormous crucifix, made by artist Marshall Fredericks, in the lovely woodland setting is pretty amazing.
We traveled there last summer. A beautiful place that blends spirituality with nature. It is in a hidden corner of Michigan. It was among several other destinations in Michigan we visited (Sleepy Bear Dunes, Mackinaw Island, etc).
