True, Too bad the rules don’t allow him, too, to cast a vote for the new Pope, just like former Presidents can still vote for the next President. No, I’m not unhappy with the rules. Just saying…

I don’t know that it’s the rules that are keeping Benedict from participating in the conclave. He has stated he intends to have no involvement in it whatsoever. I think that’s a very noble move. He wants to step aside and let another take over. It’s difficult to do that if you’re right in the thick of things.
