I’m interested to know what you intend to do with such a list. Your son-in-law could just as easily compile a list of the top ten currently living scientifically eminent non-Catholics. You could end up in an arms race of PhD’s, Nobel prizes and peer-reviewed papers.
Also, there is always the risk that some of the names that you provide him will simply reinforce his view. For example, Michael Behe did not enhance his reputation for scientific rigour in either the Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District or the Association of Christian Schools International v. Roman Stearns court cases.
