Hello Everyone,
Just wanted to start a topic that is very interesting.
Would love to read what others perceive on this topic.

That’s a VERY big topic.

Maybe you want to narrow the focus a little.

I have no idea where to begin.

Well, for starters they’re not the same thing after death…lol. 😉

I have heard that the bible says we each get a guardian angle.👍 Do non believers get one too? Can you have more than one assigned to you?

I believe everyone has a guardian angel, even the non believers. :extrahappy:

If you read the Acts of the Apostles, you may discover that early Christians referred to themselves as “saints”, meaning they were “holy” or “separate” from ordinary people.
Is this where saints came from?

Can you pray for your guardian angel? They have free will and I was wondering if it was acceptable to pray for guidance to your guardian angel? Or is it pointless as they can communicate with God freely and thus have the maximum and best advice possible.
Is it it up to them to decide when and if to help you or do they need permission from ‘head office’?
Is it acceptable to thank your guardian angel in prayer for assistance he provides and to ask for greater assistance?
Is there a patron saint for guardian angels?

Everyone gets a Guardian Angel at the point of conception.

You can certainly pray for and to your Guardian Angel. Guardian Angels, indeed, all angels, can not sin. It is impossible for them to sin. Some philosophers (such as St. Thomas Aquinas) say this is because they have already passed the exam that God set. Those who failed this exam became demons, and are eternally damned.

I think the word saint derives from the Latin word “sanctus” meaning “holy”. I’m not really sure about this so don’t quote me on it ;).

Dear Sir,

You obviously must have a coat of arms. Would it be online? Otherwise, could you describe it?

Are our guardian angels people who have died before our conception? Or are they created when we are concieved???

Coat of arms, where?

Oh, and I’m not “Sir” 😛

Thank you,

Good question. They are surely **not ** people who have died before, because it is impossible for a human to become an angel. Popular culture has created this incorrect notion that humans become “angels” when they enter Heaven. Not true. Angels are spirits created by God. Humans and Angels are different species entirely, and will remain that way forever.

It is possible that God created just enough Guardian Angels to satisfy the human populace until the end of time. Given that only God alone knows when the world will end, I would not be surprised if that was the case.

“You have made him (man) a little less than the angels” (Psalm 8:6)

They where created and as far as I know God assigns a lower ranking angel to each human.👍
