I’m glad this topic was brought up. After reading, “True Devotion to Mary” by St. Louis De Montfort, I wanted to make the total consecration. There was one thing that I did not understand, and I am hoping you can help clear this up for me. You give everything to Mary to dispose of as she sees fit, including spiritual benefits of your prayers–Does this mean that you don’t specifically pray for your own intentions any more and that you just pray in general and trust her to take care of you and the people you would normally pray for? For instance, if I make a plenary indulgence that I would normally ask to be applied to a Soul in Purgatory, do I now just give it to Mary to do whatever she wants with it? I didn’t quite understand this. Also, I tried to be diligent about doing all of the prepatory prayers, etc., leading up to the consecration, but I found it difficult to manage it all as a homeschooling mom with such a full schedule. I eventually just said the consecration prayer with the confession and communion as I feared I would never get it all done as well as it said and I at least wanted to state my intention to give everything to Jesus through Mary. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
