The topic is inerrancy of Scripture! Can we please get back to the topic? .

There does seem to be a mistake in the Bible. This is from the Catholic Douay Rheims version:
Fourth Book of Kings 8: 26 Ochozias was two and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem.
Second Book Of Paralipomenon, chapter 22: 2 Ochozias was forty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem

I know this juxtaposition of your post does not represent your intent, but the Church really is nothing more than a tertiary source claiming that the human writers of CC defined scriptures are actually a secondary source for God’s word.

Inerrancy of scripture and infallibility of the Church may be ‘required beliefs’, but that does not in any way mean they are Truth.
These ideas are keeping the flock as spiritually undeveloped as … well … a flock.

In spite of - not because of - these ideas, occasionally someone here and there manages to make great spiritual progress. Padre Pio for example.
If 10 or 15 such people were to be alive all at the same time and held spiritual discussions with equally advanced people from other spiritual traditions, there would be major breakthroughs in our understanding of Divine Reality.

• Not just various traditions clinging to various beliefs and conjectured extrapolations on earlier beliefs about what they think/claim Divine Reality is.
