Total Number of books in the Bible

To the experts:

The Protestant Bible include less total books, by a few, than the Catholic Bible. Where they removed?

Based on the fact that Bishops gathered and agreed what books to keep, and what books to leave out, were these originally included?

Did Protestants remove them?

Don’t be afraid to include details (“council of. . .”, years, etc.)

Since the Catholic Church existed from the time of Christ. And the Protestant Reformation took place in the 16 th Century, it would be unlikely that the Catholic Church
added anything to the bible!
 
I put this thread in the wrong place. Thanks for your help though.

I knew most of this. I continuely find Protestant theolgy so flawed. My friend, who isn’t Christian but studied Theology in College, calls it “Christianity for the dumb.” I tell him, “thats very self-righteous, and you shouldn’t say that,” but the more I hear from them, the more I’m left shaking my head.
