Our pastor is particular about lots of things not just his chalice. Altar servers, sacristans, the deacon all know that he wants things done a certain way. And his chalice is special to him. He wants it handled a certain way, by those who are entrusted to handle his chalice. Our parish has long had an extra chalice and that chalice has been designated for the sacristans to set out for visiting priests. And this was the policy for previous pastors as well.
Not permitted! Think of the Monstrance as a extension of the tabernacle, allowing the viewing of the host under certain conditions.

I know these term are used like this by most, even priests, deacons, and bishops use these terms interchangably, however, they are not the same. A priest or bishop is a Eucharistic minister because they are ordained to the priesthood and authorized to confect the Eucharist. Deacons and lay ministers are not, therefore they are not Eucharistic ministers. The Deacon is an ordinary minister of holy communion, lay ministers are extraordinary ministers of holy communion.
