A lot of kids like Noah and all the animals, too.

Three is probably too young, but when boys are somewhat older they like to have cups and cloths and Cheerios or Necco wafers for playing Mass, too.
 
I know this post goes a few years back but I think highly relevant gifts for 3 years olds are books. Kids love grandparents reading stories to them (or just telling them stories). A good website for kids books I know of is: www.bookkids.net
