Traditional Catholic Boarding Schools / Academies?

I am curious if any one knows how many traditional or conservative Catholic boarding schools or academies (secondary level) exist in the U.S.? I am only aware of St. Gregorys in PA run by the FSSP. (saintgregorysacademy.com/academy.htm )
Your help is much appreciated.

Kolbe Academy in California is one such:

There is a similar - and newer - academy on the San Francisco Peninsula, but I can’t remember the name.
 
Here are all the schools run by the FSSP, that I know of.

And the aforementioned St. Gregory’s in PA, which I’ve heard nothing but very good news about, especially from their alumni.

Also, the schools associated with the National Association of Private Catholic and Independent Schools tend to be very conservative/ traditional: napcis.org/member.html

There are so many catholic boarding schools are available in US.

I am mentioning here some of them.
  • Saint John’s Preparatory School
    Saint John’s Preparatory School is one of only a handful of coeducational traditional Catholic boarding schools in the United States.
  • Saint Lawrence Seminary High School
    Saint Lawrence Seminary High School is a traditional Catholic boarding school for boys that offers grades nine through 12 and is affiliated with the Capuchin Franciscans.
  • Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heat
    The Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart is a traditional Catholic boarding school for girls located just 35 miles north of Chicago.
  • Saint Thomas More School
    Saint Thomas More School, located in Oakdale, Connecticut, is an all-boys traditional Catholic boarding school.
  • California Boarding Schools
    California has a wide variety of boarding schools. There are all-boy boarding schools in California, plus all-girls schools, military schools, Catholic schools and more.

Here are some Catholic Boarding Schools run in USA, that i know of
  • Donahue Academy of Ave Maria is a Catholic Boarding School in Ave Maria, FL.
  • Academy of the Holy Family is a Catholic Boarding School in Baltic, CT
  • Canterbury School is a Catholic Boarding School in New Milford, CT
  • Cotter Schools is a Catholic Boarding School in Winona,MN
Wilderness schools
 
I second St. Louis de Montfort Academy, a very respectable school! But, I don’t think that other traditional Catholic schools take of the position that smoking, drugs, and alcohol makes the man. If the school were truly Catholic it would vehemently detest such notions!

Apparently they have and the order that runs it tells people that smoking is actually good for them, that there are many benefits to smoking.
 
Here’s a quick list of boarding schools located in California, Texas, Virginia and NY:

lower elementary school years:

Well only after watching the video did I realize that this is a 14 month old post and the user who posted it is banned, but since I just wasted 6.5 minutes watching the whole video:
  • I didn’t see any drunkenness on the video. I did some some alcoholic beverages being displayed for the camera. I wasn’t aware that alcohol is considered sinful and forbidden for Catholics.
  • I did see some smoking: A hookah, a cigar, and a (possibly empty) pipe. I have to say I don’t really see a problem with any of that as long as it’s done in moderation.
  • I didn’t see any drugs at all.
Sorry I don’t really see anything wrong with this video.
(However I did hear something wrong: Queen is obnoxious)

You don’t have a problem with high schoolers smoking and drinking?

I know if I sent my kids to a Catholic boarding school. that’s the last thing I would expect.

Also, that was a student video. They weren’t officially filming on behalf of the school. They were graduates, and old enough to smoke tobacco and drink alcohol. So, it’s safe to say, this school is a good school.

Actually I don’t if it is a legal and controlled setting.

I have a problem with high schoolers illegally drinking cases of cheap bear in car behind a shopping center before driving off to some meetup.

The alcohol I saw in the video appeared to be two things: 1) holding up bottles of Jack Daniels in an airport duty-free store. 2) drinking a moderate amount of beer while on a school trip to Europe. #1 is of no concern to me. #2 is fine as long as the adults supervising the trip were present and in control - and I have no reason to think that they were not.

As far as the smoking goes. I’m very opposed to cigarette smoking because it is so addictive for most people. I think pipes and cigars are useless, but not too harmful if done, as I said, in a legal and controlled setting. I don’t know of any cigarette smoker who doesn’t smoke at least a few cigarettes every day, but most people I know who will smoke a pipe or cigar only smoke them occasionally. Same for hookahs, but they’re more trouble than pipes or cigars and usually only come out if there’s a party.

The beer drinking was clearly in Europe, so 21 is irrelevant. As long as the adults in charge were present and in control, I’m ok with it.

Reminds me of a German documentary about the SSPX. One of the (teenage) girls at the SSPX’s girl’s boarding school in Germany insisted “We normal people! We drink wine too!”
