think of me what you will. I don’t think very highly of you, the way to were incredibly rude to another poster yesterday
That does not change the fact that you have lied about FE, then proved to be wrong, and then “bowed out” of the discussion after confronted about your lying.

I have already reported two of tobinatorstarks posts to the moderators for calumny, lies, and misrepresentation. I am sure they will review the thread when they get a chance.
and I have petitioned to get Fisheaters put on the banned topics list

Calling anyone a “liar” is both uncharitable and unwarranted.

If you disagree with Tobinatorstark, then you should discuss your disagreement in a civil manner. Telling one to “Get their head out of the sand” is also unwarranted. There is no need to personally attack other posters.

This is a Catholic forum. Act like one.

SGM:
You seem much more tolerable than TS.

How is calling someone a liar uncharitable? It is fact.

I was not the poster who said stuff about heads and sand.

Edit:
Lying about the good works of a pair of Catholics to destroy their image simply because you disagree with them is FAR FAR FAR more uncharitable than my speaking the truth (calling someone a liar.)

I do endorse … Tan Books
Like these titles from TAN books?

Liturgical Time Bombs In Vatican II
Destruction of the Faith through Changes in Catholic Worship
By: Michael Davies

The Rhine Flows Into The Tiber
A History of Vatican II
By: Rev. Ralph Wiltgen

The Catholic Sanctuary
And The Second Vatican Council
By: Michael Davies

For the sake of charity, I’ll assume you are unaware of some of the books TAN publishes (though they are easily visible on their website) rather than you are turning a blind eye to them and offering your recommendation to give the appearance of not hating traditional Catholics so that you may continue your calumnious attacks upon them. 👍

Read the Forum Rules/Guidelines:

Civility and a respect for each other should be foremost.
Posters are expected to treat each other as equals with equal expectations of each other in terms of research, logic, challenges, and portrayal of Catholic teaching.
Questions are a better approach than assertions, unless the latter are framed in a non-confrontational and non-accusatory manner.
It is never acceptable to question the sincerity of an individual’s beliefs
It is never acceptable to assume or say you know what another person thinks or needs.
If you aren’t going to go into the discussion with the resolution that you could just possibly have your view broadened, you may as well not go into it.
Terms of derision, derogatory remarks, baiting, and inflammatory statements are prohibited.

Calling anyone a “liar” is both disrespectful and violates decorum in this forum. Derogatory remarks and inflammatory statements are strictly prohibited.

I would again advise that this thread be closed.

Fair enough. If it takes, then at least you can’t use CA as a platform for your personal hatred of those attached to the Extraordinary Form and the customs associated with that era of liturgy.

Where all this hatred against other Catholics comes from I’ll never know.

It’s only derogatory if it isn’t true (see the definition of derogatory). He has questioned the sincerity of my and my wife’s beliefs. He has baited me and used inflammatory statements by charging me with heresy. He has engaged in calumny which is the sinful version of derogation.

I don’t even want an apology - I’ll forgive him without one; I just want him to stop with the lies.

And I have reported you for your repeated efforts to destroy your fellow Catholics repuations with false accusations you refuse to recant when presented with truth. 🙂

And StGerardMajella I understand your desire to remain civil but then why do you not say anything about Tobins false accusations? I mean he has accused FE of denying the Ordinary Form, Vatican II and the pope’s succeeding Pius XII even though they accept all three

Note:

The purpose of this thread is to offer suggestions for Traditional Catholic books and web sites. It is not to debate the merits of any one particular site. So please drop the debate over Fisheaters.com. (It is also not the purpose of CAF to defend Fisheaters.com against critique. Members are free to offer their opinions, good or bad, provided they do so politely and charitably.)

I’d prefer to keep this thread open and online. So please get back on topic. Thanks.

If I called someone an Anti-Semite (and they indeed WERE an Anti-Semite) would that be disrespectful and violating decorum?

He is a liar. I am stating fact.

Or, I could provide my statement as thus:
Is tobinatorstark a liar, when he:
  1. Asserts a section of FE is “absolute heresy”
  2. Is responded to with facts showing that said section is NOT full of “absolute heresy”
?

Madame Moderator, with all due respect, I have never objected to criticisms of the website. What I am objecting to is lies about the website. The Catholic virtue of Justice would seem to indicate that you should not allow objective lies about not only websites, but about people, namely, myself and my wife.

If I made a clear lie up about another forum member would that be tolerated? Of course not. I am only asking the same consideratoin. I will never interject if someone says “That site is poorly written, or the wrong color, or not enough information.” However, my wife and I have been charged with heresy, etc. That is something completely different and very serious.

I respectfully ask I be given the same benefit as any other forum member and these vicious attacks and objectively clear lies be stopped.

I’ve already suspended two people for two weeks for ignoring a previous warning to keep this thread on topic. I’m willing to add more people to that list if this warning is not heeded.

This thread is not about Fisheaters.com. Please get back on topic or the thread will be closed. Thank you.

You are right, I should not have said that. I apologize,

But from your initial post on this thread, I get the feeling you want the TC forum itself closed, not just the thread.

A member asks a question. He/she wanted some suggestions. Is it fair to have the thread closed because trad haters infested it ?

I mean come on, if we are going to talk right or wrong, let’s not be biased about it.

Books, etc. I would recommend:

Roman Missal of 1962 - I have the Baronius Press edition, and enjoy it thoroughly. There are several threads on Catholic Answers that discuss the various Missals.

The Raccolta - A wonderful book that covers the traditional and official prayers of the Catholic Church. Beautiful book.

Douay-Rheims Haydock Bible - Great commentary, though somewhat dated and a bit out of touch. Nevertheless, a great resource for any traditional Catholic.

Monastic Diurnal - The Benedictine Divine Office, Matins excepted. I purchased mine through Abbey Press. A treasure.

Divine Office in Latin - www.BreviariumRomanum.com just released an all Latin edition of the Roman Breviary. Looks like a great resource, though I haven’t purchased this one yet.

Into Great Silence - Documentary about the Carthusians. Very traditional, great documentary. There is a book that goes along with the movie as well.

4 Volumes - Mystical City of God - by Ven. Mary of Agreda. Great series of books.

Story of a Soul - Book about St. Therese of the Little Flower. Great read.

Get your hands on a biography of Padre Pio as well. Very traditional priest, and a great saint.
