This video was filmed before the Transalpine Redemptorists reconciled with Rome. Today they are in good standing. It’s a very interesting and moving account of their effect on a visitor. Worth sharing I think.

I love this video. I’ve watched it numerous times with my small children who also enjoy it. We’ve been signing people up for their purgatorian archconfraternity and my little children refer to them as “the monks on the island.”

I always wondered what happened to the visitor. He was clearly touched at the end and I’m sure his experience has opened his heart to Our Lord and His Church.

Yes, I admire them. Good to see your children like them … I can hear them pulling for the monks in the raft race Adam was obviously very moved there at the end for sure. They are a diamond in the rough.

It is all of these little traditional orders of monks, hermits and contemplatives that will save God’s Church. It has always been that way, in every generation, in the face of every difficulty. My understanding is, in France, first daughter of the Church, the contemplative orders are full.

Quite welcome ! I’ve watched it so many times I can’t count them

Their quarterly publication Catholic has lots of good articles and news including a section that covers interesting tidbits one would be hard pressed to find easily. Each issue also includes additional publications such as calenders and prayer guides.

I’ve been very “taken” with the Carmelite Monks of Wyoming and the Benedictines of Clear Creek.
Hoping to visit Clear Creek next year.
