Traditional Churches in North Dallas Area

I know there’s a “traditional” church in teh Irving area, but does anyone know of one in the North Dallas area?

Unfortunately, it looks like Irving is your closest location for a traditional Latin Mass. You may still want to check out the Dallas parish that hosted the Latin Mass before it moved to Irving:

There are a few places that you can try that are in “Far” North Dallas.

The most traditional with a Latin Mass is St. William in Greenville. It is a long drive but well worth the trip. Here’s their website: saintwilliamtheconfessor.com/

Fr. Paul is an excellent homilist and will hit you right between the eyes. Watch out Fr. Corapi. The sanctuary is quiet inside with latin chants being played in the background and the parishioners are praying the rosary quietly. It is a wonderfully serene place. You feel as if you have left earth and entered heaven.

Another parish is St. Michael in McKinney. stmichaelmckinney.org/
Fr. Bradley is an excellent priest who interacts with his parishioners individually and has a marvelous wit when he speaks to you one on one. Homeschoolers are welcomed here. Fr. Bradley is also willing to customize the faith formation and sacramental prep for those kids who have been well catechised. The Mass is sacred here with traditional music and a quiet respectful atmosphere. The inside of the church is beautiful and traditional as well. The choir is in a loft at the back of the church. Every niche has a kneeler, candles, and statues. The tabernacle is right behind the altar in a place of honor and repect.

One word of warning: stay away from St. Gabriel in McKinney. It has been “lay run” since it’s inception. The abuse of the Eucharist makes me want to cry.

I actually live in McKinney! I have attended St. Gabriel off & on… and let’s just say that parish in particular is one reason I (& my wife) left the Cathoic church for a while… but now I want to come back!

Fr. Bradley used to be my priest back when I went to St. Jude in Allen. I have wanted to see St. Michael, especially since they built the new bldg. I know of a couple of folks that go there even though St. Gabriel is closer…

St. William site is down…I’ll check it out later… it’s only 3 more miles to greenville than irving so it’s definitely work a look!

I also just noticed that St Michael has a 8am mass… my kind of church!
(I remember going to 6:30am as a kid… whatever happened to that? lol)
