After I read an article he wrote on penance, reparations and the difference between the two, I’ve been convinced he can make anything make sense.

I still need to read his catechism and get back to you about it.

Opus Dei is at the forefront of preserving traditional Catholic moral teachings, imo. The Opus Dei members are among the best formed lay Catholics, with strong knowledge of Scripture and Liturgy.

A Fr Richard M Heilman from the Diocese of Madison is starting a group called the Knights of Divine Mercy. From what I’ve read about them they seem pretty orthodox. I hope the organization grows.

They arm all their knights “weapons” including:a brown scapular, The Handbook of Prayers, The Pieta Prayerbook, Rosary, St. Michael Chaplet, Miraculous Medals, Holy Water, and Blessed Salt. They encourage the Liturgy of the Hours, go to First Friday mass and attend nights of prayer.

It looks like the kind of organization I’ve been waiting for. I’d really like to see this grow past it’s one chapter.

Hmm, I see. I don’t think Opus Dei would be a very good fit for me.

I think you will enjoy it. As you said, he has a gift for making things make sense in a way that others I have read do not. I really believe his Catechism is excellent.
