Traditional Parishes in Eastern Oklahoma/Western Arkansas

Our family is exploring (read - praying like crazy) over a potential move to eastern Oklahoma (Adair county). checking via Google we can find 5 or so parishes in the area, but none of them have websites that we can tell and we haven’t found anything in the forum on the churches in that area.

Does anyone have any recommendation on a parish in the eastern Oklahoma/Western Arkansas area?

Our current parish is Holy Rosary (holyrosaryindy.org/ in Indianapolis 👍 .

Thoughts?
 
Its not a parish, per se, but there is the Clear Creek Monastery in Hulbert, OK (20 miles NE of Muskogee).
 
I can’t really say for those areas but we bought a house in Conway AR which is central AR and from the Catholic Churches in and around Faulkner County you should be able to find a church suitable. Unless it is large like Little Rock/Jacksonville area there will be only one Catholic Church per county. Not sure of the area in OK but there is a Catholic College or University in the eastern area of OK and I think it will be a lot like AR with one church per county. We still have our house in Conway but are trying to finish our house in St. Bernard LA from Katrina and one thing I can say coming from an area where the majority are Catholic and churches half-full the opposite is what I saw in AR - the churches were packed regardless of the size and very well supported financially. The part I didn’t like was the attitude of the non-Catholics. Good luck in your move. I’m sure you will like the area. One more Katrina and we may be calling AR home if our son is still stationed in Little Rock AFB - we like both states as we made several trips to OK.

I just found that tonight on Google, They seem to indicate that they open the low masses open to the laity but that high masses are reserved for Monks of the monastery. They seem to be focused on offering an occasional “getaway” as opposed to a home parish (I suppose it makes since they are a monastery after all 😉 ).

There are regular TLM masses in Tulsa, but that’s 1 1/2 a way (doable, but that’s a bit far for one’s home parish).

Does anyone know anything about the churches on the Arkansas side? We used to attend St. Joesph in Fayetteville, AR back when Fr. Paul Worm was there (We are still shocked he was removed!). Back then St. Joesph was a very orthodox parish.

Our family is in the process of relocating close to the Clear Creek Monastery. Anyone is welcome to attend both the Low Mass or the High Mass there each day, as well as some of the Offices. Our family loves it there.

The bishop of Tulsa is working on establishing a parish for the families who live around the monastery. There are already quite a few families living there and I know of at least five more who hope to move there with in the next year. I’m not sure what your reasons are for choosing Adair County, but you might want to at least visit the Monastery and see what you think. It is less than an hour’s drive from both Tulsa and Muskogee.
