I do not know why that is being teached, but it is being taught by the Religious Education teachers.

The age group’s are between 11 - 18yr olds.

My sister is not the R.E teacher, she is a support teacher (she sit’s with the less academic students and helps them to catch up in class)

It is what she is hearing and being told about from the teachers at the school.

As she is not the class teacher but a support teacher, she has to listen to the academic teachers, and it is they that are teaching this way; but my sister believes it is the truth because the teachers are saying it is what the church is now teaching:mad:

That is why I am looking for official documents, because I know if she can see the truth on paper then she should believe.

As for the NT, apparently they are the only real life stories in the Bible.
Do you think the Pastor/Dean/Principal is aware this is being taught? I think I would be tempted to have a discussion with him/her and check out what is really going on. I would have a couple of meetings and ask that the teacher who is teaching this be present at the conversation. It sounds a bit crazy to me. 🙂 Peace

God help your sister’s students!
Hello Stphilomena. Reviewed what I read about the Milk and Honey in addition to the Bread and Wine at Mass in Early Church History. Apparently this was in use on a limited basis during the time of St. Hyppolytus. It was an additional rite celebrating the entrance of communicants into the Church at Easter time. Read this in “Fathers of the Church” by Mike Giuliano.🙂 Peace

Will have to find the document, but the vessels must be “noble and durable”, objects that would not have ordinary uses. Clay is very common and could be used for chips! 🙂 I said the disobedience would be sinfull: to knowingly disobey what the Church tells us to do.
Rushing right now, will try to come back later with the info; Benedictgal where are you?!

Here’s a thread where this was discussed and a document is provided. See post #6. People don’t accept the requirements given by the Church, but that doesn’t make them right. So disregard the arguing in the thread. 😦 There are other documents also pertaining to this.

Oops! Looks like I was WRONG. Thanks for setting me straight. Wrote to Pious also retracting my statement. 😃 Peace.

With traditional church beliefs melting away around us and liberalizing, I think we all need to look back at our Church tradition in history and the early centuries of Christian existence. I’ve been focusing intensely on the passages in which Jesus said, “You are in the world, but you are not of the world.” He said, “If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own.” He added that the world cannot love his disciples, and that they must not love the world. He set up clear, rigid lines that the disciples must not cross.

Today, the love of the world is killing souls in droves. The world is such a pressure, such a strong influence, and liberalism that changes traditional Christian values is the source of our destruction.

This is exactly right. And it’s very disturbing :(.
Does this mean we should return to “purify” souls with fire? 😉 Loyalty is a difficult thing to come by in a world torn apart by dissent. I am loyal to Rome like a Roman soldier. So its best to avoid slinging outragious comments that send people to hell like funadamentalist tend to do to us. Many Catholics are doing their own thing. For some its there best effort. In many ways we love to say they’re not Catholic but the reality of it all is that even Protestants are Catholic in denial of the fullness of the truth. I choose a more charitable approach while teaching truth. Changing the mass from a great form to another great form does not solve the proble. The root of the problem is many Catholics during the 60’s and 70’s bought into the "if it feels good do it’ mentality. My dad was right about that.

You should be praying your rosary for conversions.

I would sit down with your sister and explain to her that many if not all of her beliefs are heresy. To say that Adam and Eve did not exist would be to destroy the entire Christian faith. I would say that you should teach her what the Catholic Church actually teaches and that her priest is a heretic.

Well Then:
Matthew 7
13 Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in thereat.
14 How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life: and few there are that find it!

Now I ask, is Liberalism or Traditionalism the WIDE and BROAD (& Easy) way?

Case Closed.

Finally, I ask, in 20 or so years when her beloved NO Mass is no longer “hip and with the times”, will she embrace the "New One World-Unity Service ‘Mass’ " or cling to her “tradition”?
.

The problem is that she clearly believes what she has been told by the Priest and by the R.E teachers at her school and that I am holding on to past teaching’s.

If she want’s to hold a differnt view of the Catholic teaching and is not willing to listen to me, then I guess at the end of the day that is her decision; but what I do not like is being told by her, is that my views about the Catholic faith are old school and that nobody believes that any more and is trying to get me to change my views.

The more I talk to her the more she defends her views; they say you can choose your friend’s but not your family:D

Thank God that her parish have a new Priest, whom I have met and been to his Mass and I am glad to say that the clay vessels are gone:thumbsup:, so hopefully the new Priest will restore her view of Catholic teaching:gopray2:

I just have to say thank you for being so gracious; it is not all that common around here! 🙂

Perhaps mention that priests are fallible people. Even the Pope is fallible. The only thing Infallible is the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. That is what she should be faithful to, not her heretic priest.

Again, I would go talk to the priest and explain why you are so upset about what is being taught in the school. I, for one, am GREATLY concerned about the students. 🙂 Peace.
