The city where I live has a very special type of train. (It is called the Luas and is purple.) One of my very favourite hobbies is to ride on the Luas.It has led me on many grand adventures. But my father (who…isn’t a very nice person) has forbidden me to ride on it.So is it a sin if I do it anyway?😦

All things being equal and you being 14 years old it would seem to me that obedience to your Father in all things except sin would be required. I had 6 children who passed through your age level at some time in the past and I would say that the judgement/wisdom exercised by 14 year olds can sometimes leave something to be desired. Has he offered any reason for the prohibition? I do know here in the states in certain cities I would not want my 14 year old son or particularly my daughter riding alone on the trains or tram.

Whether your father is a very nice person or not is irrelevant. The fact is you are under his roof living off of his work and under his care. In a few years you will be out on your own and you can ride the Luas all you want. While you may think you know everything at 14, think about how much you have learned since your were seven. Take that amount and multiply it by 100 and that is how much you will know by the time you are 28. You will one day realize that the older you get the wiser your father tends to become. Listen to him on this even if you disagree.

Well, that pretty much wrecks my fun, but I know sin is terrible, so I’ll TRY not to do it too much. But the Luas is like a part of me.Still, its not as important as God.
