Transcendent Bread:Apocalyptic Prophecy?

Hello, good people. My name is Joe and I am posting for the first time here about a new and somewhat disturbing book I’ve just read titled Transcendent Bread by a new author on the subject by the name of John Condenzio. It contains some incredible claims, which the author attests are true-such as the appearance of what he and his “followers” believed to be the face of Jesus on the door of the room where he wrote it, as well as predictions of these world events now taking place, such as the rise of Islamic fundamentalism, the terrorist threat, etc, which he claims were written in the 70s. Has anyone else here heard about this book or read it? Would love to hear from you if you have, because I hear it is rapidly gaining an audience, which strikes me as rather strange. Thanks.

Just did a quick Goolge of the author and book and it sounds like he is a horror fiction writer. Sounds like the Transcendent Bread book is supposed to be fictional too, but I couldn’t really get a good grasp for it. Personally I don’t think I’d care for this author

Hello Kristy: This is Joe Fusco. I can understand what you said about some of the things contained in the review; so here is something I can relate to you about this book. First off, the author claimed to have begun the book while still in his teens, and hadn’t written much of anything before that except some poetry, which is remarkable because I found the book to be very well-written in spots and good throughout. He claims to have been inspired by it through a series of dreams and revelations born of his study of the apocalyptic scriptures in the Bible-shortly after he began the book, a face of what he, and then others, took to be Jesus, began to appear on the door of the room where he was writing it; he soon had “followers” who spread it around, and its following grew. He claims that the book foretold the now ongoing terrorist threats (and alludes to an attack on a major American city that quote “burned like a mountain of undying flame,” which were to be spawned from the rise of Islamic fundamentalism, and a host of other things too involved to fit in here. I will agree that it does have a somewhat “mystical” smack to it-especially in a section of poems in the book titled “Conversing with the Universe.” I can’t really elaborate on it more clearly, as I am still digesting it myself. But it is an excellent and engaging read, for the most part, and you may enjoy reading it yourself.
Book is said to have been written from the mid 70s to mid 80s.
