I have just put together some insights about the Transfiguration from the Church Fathers, St. Thomas Aquinas, and the CCC. I am very happy with it, check it out. litteralchristianlibrary.wetpaint.com/page/the+6th+of+August

I like the way St. Thomas explains the the state of Elijah and Moses concerning their souls and body considering how Elijah did not die and Moses did.

Has Aquinas made an error when he says “Elias coming down from where he had ascended.” Jesus was the only person to ascend. Others, like Elijah, were assumed.

No, because the Ascension of Jesus was in glory to the Heavenly domain with the Father. Elijah did ascend as 2King 2:11 says, “and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.” St. Thomas is techniqually correct, and there is no doubt in my mind that he understood the correct theology of it.
