God didn’t make a mistake…the transgendered people are probably here for a reason…maybe to teach us to show compassion to those who are different, especially somethign that so contradicts the catholic mindset?
Why is every freak of nature a learning opportunity for liberals. What is showing compassion: to take a child and mutilate their bodies based on a feeling they had. The sex change industry is just like the abortion industry…a money making scheme which plays on people’s insecurities and flucuant feelings.

I thought Christ taught us compassion by helping us (through His teachings and His sacraments) to give up our sinful lives and to sin no more. I didn’t know people suffering from mental health problems were needed to teach us compassion. Sick people need to be healed…not mutilated or enabled in their delusions.

Errr. Did God make a mistake when he “created” genetic defects? This is a dangerous arguement/statement.

How about this story…true story.

There was a kid who was born intersexual. WIth sex organs of both sexes. Parents and doctors decided to make him a boy. He grew up thinking he was a girl. Never felt like a ‘guy’ but decided…hey…since I’m a guy I might as well make the most of it. He tried to be a guy. Lifted weights and did ‘guy’ things. Tried hard but it didn’t take.

He actually became a doctor to help people like himself. He found another guy who was in effect…the same as he was. Intersexual. I don’t think his partner ever had an operation or anything…he just remained intersexual…or a combination of both genders.

Is this a ‘gay’ relationship? The one guy was probably ‘supposed’ to be a girl and remained a woman on the inside despite his own best efforts. "She’ apparently fell in love with this ‘guy’.

I honestly don’t think this is a widespread thing…I’ve only known of this one instance and I have really wondered about it. I honestly don’t know what to think of it.

Wow, what a compassionate, loving Christian opinion!

Thankfully, Jesus didn’t reject the lepers, the sick, the blind, and we sinners as “freaks.” Certainly, we should be working to help heal people with these genetic mutations and no one here has suggested that sex change operations is the solution to be pursued. What has been suggested is that not all people who struggle with transgender are people wanting to change their sex on a whim - for some, they are suffering with the stupid choices that doctors made for them. I believe Christ would have compassion for these people, not deride them.

Your signature says “show me a liberal and I’ll show you an aristocrat.” Calling people with genetic defects “freaks” sure sounds elitist to me …
