My MIL gave me a prayer card with a nice photo of the Holy Father on it with the following written underneath:

Rezmos à Maria
Màe do Senhor,
para que nos faça sentir
o seú amor de mulher a de màe
no qual podemos compreender
toda a profundidade
do mistério de Cristo
O Senhor vos abençoe a todos!

Can any of the CAFers tell me what language this is and what does it say? I can make out some of it. Something about Mary’s profound love for the mystery of Christ, I think.

Any help would be great. I am away so if you don’t mind PMing me so I can chek when I get back I would greatly appreciate it.

It’s probably Brazilian Portuguese and probably something along the lines of:

[Something*] to Mary,
Mother of the Lord,
To make us feel,
Her love of a woman and a mother,
In which we can understand,
The whole depth
Of the mystery of the Christ
Lord bless you all
  • Looks like either “resumos”, which would be “summaries” in continental Portuguese, or perhaps it’s a first person imperative verb like “let’s pray”. I really don’t know.
But I don’t know that exact language.

I would also guess Portuguese.

Rezemos is most likely “we pray.”

In spanish the formal word for pray is “Rezar,” conjugated to rezamos.
