I’ve heard both about the Eucharist. I believe in the real presence of Jesus in it but I don’t think it literally turns into body and blood with cells and everything. Physically speaking, it’s still wine and bread, right? Of course, spiritually, it is Jesus. Am I understanding this correctly?

Hi,

The bread and wind really does become the body and blood of Jesus even though it appears to still be bread and wine. The reality (or substance) changes, but the appearance remains the same. This is what transubstantiation means.
