Trash Bag HELP

I am on a committee and we are planning our 1st festival.
For some reason I am in charge of trash

So I have to find trash bags that fit 55 gal drums. We don’t want these bags to be falling apart or tearing when they are pulled out of the trash cans. Although I don’t think that we need construction site grade bags either.

The price goes up for each .mil and I have no idea what to get

Now I have found some bags, great price, although instead of mil they say they are 22 micron

What is a micron??? And is 22 a good micron #?

These bags are mainly going to be used for paper trash, some cans and plastic bottles (that people don’t put in the recycling bin). Food, and I am sure liquids from people who don’t drink all of their beverages. Shouldn’t have anything sharp in them.

Ideas anyone???

A call to your high school custodian should get you your answer. They will know what works best (they handle ball games and dances) as well as what is available in your area.

A Micron is 0.0001 centimeter.
A Mil is 0.001 of an inch.
1 inch is 2.54 centimeter

So 1 mil is 25.4 microns.

So assuming that the companies are using the terms correctly you can compare apples to apples.

Now what thickness of bags you need, I will leave that up to someone else.

Based on trash bags that I have, 22 micron seems a little thin but maybe acceptable.

The “cheap” trash bags that I have are about 22 micron while the higher quality ones go up to 28 micron.

33 micron is a heavy duty leaf bag.
