Tredentine Mass Is Our Right

You nor anyone else has a “right” to any form of the liturgy if it first is not given by our Lord. **The Lord did not call us specifically to a stuff-shirted liturgy that 98% of the people cannot understand. ** The Lord called us to first and foremost LOVE ONE ANOTHER. The division formed by those who shove the EXTRAORDINARY form down peoples throats is destroying the fabric of our Catholic faith and creating rival camps. If you don’t see this then you must be blinded by your gold lame vestments and birettas. I don’t think the Novus Ordo is perfect either - the typical parish has a long ways to go in learning solemn, reverent implementation of this rite. But to just flush 40 years of reform down the toilet because you think you have right to something is immature and narcissistic. I would suggest looking at your motiviation and making sure it isn’t yourself.

My — one can see how the “love” flows in your post.

What flattering terms do you have in mind to describe someone who wants to scrap 1500+ years of liturgical development in return for a novelty?

FINALLY someone with a head on their shoulders. These people scare me - the liturgy becomes about themselves and everyone else can just go to hell. I don’t think the novus ordo is perfect, but falling back into the past isn’t a solution - it’s a chicken-butt way of retreating from the future.
The Pope is in favor of having the EF available in every Parish. Perhaps you should inform him that he’s just being selfish, and a chicken butt for “falling into the past”

Well if you took the time and read my previous post you would understand where I was coming from. I made mention that there is nothing wrong with the X-Form, but rather the problem lies in people who think it’s the ONLY way! I for one think BXVI was very obliging to the traditionalists. But he has kept it in check.

Perhaps you should be less rude to those that prefer the Extraordinary form. LOVE ONE ANOTHER, remember?

“Someone” as in …the Holy Spirit. Do you people think that the Spirit has just abandoned the Church? Do you seriously subscribe to the theory that Vatican II was contrary to the working of the HS? WOW. Arrogant…

Huh? Where do get this from? Every parish? If the Pope did not say this, you should not put words in his mouth. If he did, where?

No, it’s obvious - if the Pope says it’s ok then it MUST be done everywhere. There is a difference between “allow” and “want”.

I don’t see what I wrote as rude - do you see yourself as defensive?
Really??

“the liturgy becomes about themselves and everyone else can just go to hell. I don’t think the novus ordo is perfect, but falling back into the past isn’t a solution - it’s a chicken-butt way of retreating from the future.”

No, not rude at all.

No ruder than being told by these folks that the only way of true salvation in the Church and if I don’t embrace the X-Form I’m damed to eternal hell. Good Catholic guilt?

It was from an interview with Card. Castrillon Hoyos

wdtprs.com/blog/2008/05/holy-smoke-pope-wants-the-latin-mass-everywhere/

According to the Catholic News Agency, Cardinal Dario Castrillon Hoyos, head of the Pontifical Commission
Ecclesia Dei, let the cat out of the bag in an interview for a DVD instructing priests on how to celebrate the Extraordinary Form.

Here’s the money quote: “The cardinal said that parishes and priests should make available the Extraordinary Form so that ‘everyone may have access to this treasure of the ancient liturgy of the Church’. He also stressed that, ‘even if it is not specifically asked for, or requested’ it should be provided. Interestingly, he added that the Pope wants this Mass to become normal in parishes, so that ‘young communities can also become familiar with this rite’.”

😛

When asked by The Catholic Herald if the Pope wanted to see many ordinary parishes making provision for the traditional form, the cardinal said: "All the parishes. Not many - all the parishes, because this is a gift of God. He [the Pope] offers these riches, and it is very important for new generations to know the past of the Church. This kind of worship is so noble, so beautiful - the deepest theologians’ way to express our faith.

What folks.
The folks who tell me that the liturgy I attend isn’t the “true liturgy” - the same people who shove the X-Form down my throat - the same people who think wearing a biretta makes them holier than thou.

Perhaps you should take in to account ALL the people that prefer the EF and not just those that make wild claims. 🤷

Right - so unless Hoyos was made Pope yesterday then this isn’t the POPE saying this.

Oh good - that’s a VERY non-biased quote - from Cardinal Hoyos - who personally thinks the entire Church should revert completely to the OLD liturgy. Why don’t you find a quote from the Pope, as you said you had.
Never said I had a quote from the Pope. Sorry you can’t take the Cardinal’s word for it.
