I am swamped with work.
I know and believe you are correct about the fig tree.
If you have the time and energy, could you sent the Bible passages for my understanding?
THANKS!!!
The Parable of the Budding Fig Tree is a parable told by Jesus in Matthew 24:32-35, Mark 13:28-31, and Luke 21:29-33.
According to the Gospel of Luke (21:29-33):
"Look at the fig tree and all the trees. When they sprout leaves, you can see for yourselves and know that summer is near. Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near.
"Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
Cursing the fig tree is one of the miracles of Jesus in the Gospels, namely in Mark 11:12–14 and Matthew 21:18–22.[1][2]
According to the Gospel, Jesus was hungry, and:
Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see whether perhaps he would find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. He said to it, ‘May no one ever eat fruit from you again.’ And his disciples heard it.
In the Gospel of Matthew the fig tree withers immediately, while in the Gospel of Mark (11:20-24), the tree is noticed as having withered by the next day.
The Parable of the Barren Fig Tree is a parable told by Jesus in the gospel of Luke.
According to the Gospel of Luke (13:6-15):
"A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it but did not find any. So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, ‘For three years now I’ve been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’
"‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone for one more year, and I’ll dig around it and fertilize it. If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.’ "
Matt 7:16-20
16 "You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes, nor figs from thistles, are they?
17 "Even so, every good tree bears good fruit; but the bad tree bears bad fruit.
18 "A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.
19 "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
20 "So then, you will know them by their fruits.
Gal 5:22-23
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”
