This clip represents a frequent basic failure by many apologists to address questions of biblical interpretation as they relate to Christian morality.

Starting at 18:39.
18:39 - I reject the God of the Old Testament and since Catholic moral teaching is based on the Old and New Testament, I reject Catholic moral teaching.
At 21:00 the host recapitulates the question for the caller
“How does a Catholic reconcile these passages in the Mosaic law Trent…?”

Trent’s response is correct in that he uses God as the reference point of morality. , However the response fails to address the real objection the caller has against Old Testament views of morality.
Trent conforms Christian morality to incomplete Old Testament conceptions of morality, rather than putting scripture into it’s proper context, in the light of Christ, using the whole of Scripture as context rather than limiting it to the OT context.

And that fails to address one of the most common objections to Catholicism, especially among younger people who are fleeing the Church.
